She grew up in Wellington, Florida. She got her undergraduate degrees at University of Florida in Microbiology and Neuroscience. She then went on to Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine where she graduated in 2011. In her time as a veterinarian she has worked in Havre de Grace, MD; Naples, FL; and now resides and works in Tampa FL. She is Chi Institute certified in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine which she incorporates into her work in an evidence-based manner. 

Dr. Yan enjoys riding horses, spending time with her husband, two children and two dogs, and enjoying all that the Tampa area has to offer.
